I've seen a lot of shops with featured items in their shop front where if you click it it opens up a link to buy it?
Do these improve sales at all?
Also how do you make it? I know I need the image link, but how do I make it "buyable"

I messed something up though and I'm not sure where. I did item ID link then image then closed the link tag, but when I click on the item it takes me back to the top of the page and makes two appear *lol* not sure why =/

You can search the item on the wiz and click to go into a shop to buy it. And in your browser address bar, there is a link and it should have part of it being "id=12345" and 12345 would be your item ID.
Dunno if theres a better / faster way. I think you can get them from your SDB as well
For my featured items box, I just made a basic HTML table. I look up my ID numbers through the shop wiz. I like to do themes, so for example, one week I featured dumplings. This week I'm featuring pink drinks. Not selling so well on the pink drinks, but I try to change my items once a week so that even if people might not necessarily buy them, they'll want to visit to see which items I'm featuring. And then when they're visiting maybe they'll see something else they like and buy it and I still make a sale. It's a lot of trial and error for me right now.
What program are you using? I use Firefox and I cannot see any ID numbers doing any of the things suggested.

Pip, the whole point of you to add specials to your shop is that the user clicks on the item and it appears at the top of your shop for them to buy, right? Well thats exactly what its doing. its not "doubled", its just that you have your "specials" code and then the item appears underneath to be purchaced.
When you add more specials (like 3-4 in a row), it wont look so weird when the special is clicked :)
Also, on your img tag, you might want to add border=0 to get rid of the blue line around your item
