Norton Antivirus and Flash Drives

Before I get hounded, I read the sticky and I always use the latest version of FF and am running Vista 64-bit (Premium I think?)
Anyway, Norton says the installer for the mall tool contains a downloader and wants to delete it. I got the installer right off this site, so can I be [i]absolutely[/i] sure that it's not infected?
Also, I install very few programs on my own computer. Would it really be that much of a hassle to run the tracker from a average-speed flash drive? What problems might I run into?

Right when I open the portal I get this error.

Portal freezes on startup

Just joking Dmitri ;) but since I have your attention... (a)
Sometimes when I open the portal it freezes on the loading page at "checking for updates". Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Windows Vista, Chromes browser, don't know what else you might need to know. Thanks very much :)

how do you use the counters?

I am totally confused. I can not use any thing for my neopet sight.
Is it not compatable? Plus there are not samples of the counters. When I put the codes on it says there and it says: Invalid words or disallowed property names found in your style tags.

My computer just sent a Ping to www.neomallers.com, told me I sent 32 bytes and got 32 bytes back. What's this supposed to be about?

updater.exe -- infected with downloader virus

This was in my neomallers folder and has now been quarantined by my virus program.
So what now?
Do I just delete it?
Is it my computer being over-protective?
If I delete it will I miss Portal upgrades?

Buy at price reset to 800 / #sold reset to 157

After submitting my shop front today, the majority of my items' 'bought @' prices were set to 800, the '#sold' set to 157 or 158, and many of the 'sell @' prices set to 5101.... I back up my "users" file constantly, so I deleted it, restored the back up file and went about copy/pasting my shop front again and the same thing happened.
