The bass in some of my music is like really messed up/distorted. Or it's non existent. Even my no name mp3 player from like 10 years ago sounds alot better. There has to be something wrong. any ideas? lol It's an iPod Touch by the way... (if it werent for all the bells and whistles like wi-fi, i'd be really pissed lol)

So was I but then something kinda happened to my old mp3 player so figured, i'd try it out since people were going so crazy over them so was abit curious (A)

I just have one of the reg nanos but my friend has an iPod Touch and I've never heard any complaints from him about it - but could be the individual mp3 player. I had a sansdisk for 24 hours before I got rid of mine. It absolutely sucked due to the fact I have a Mac and it only works with Windows Media Player and half the time I was having issues transferring music onto it when I was using a computer with windows. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=evilbluemunkeyz

Have you tried changing the headphones? I find the headphones that come with iPods aren't the greatest, but they are super portable. I plugged in an old pair of Sonys and the quality was back : ) I find having both low quality and high quality headphones are great because if you use high quality headphone with low quality recording all you can hear is noise but if you have CD quality music on your iPod investing in a nice pair of headphones goes a long way. I'm using the original ones. My sister was like what's the point of an iPod if you're gonna change it lol. But yeah I plugged the iPod ones into my old player and it sounds great. Guess I'm out of luck until apple invests in srs or something :(

Theres usually a setting of what type of "mode" to play your music in. Like, live or pop or techno or super bass! Maybe you had the bass on your old player, but not on your ipod? Im not sure tho , I have a Zen (Creative). Thats weird... Yeah I have a preset equalizer set up at bass but slot of times it messes up the music and garbles it. I've heard creative is good but I was already pissed at the sound blaster x fi card i bought a couple months back. The card is absolutely awesome but the drivers suck and sends both windows xp and 7 pro into Random blue screens of deaths. Someting about irq not less or equal to... no idea what that is.

my son is having that issue. but its the ear phone jack. it has come loose. you may find that some times you dont get any music at all. if you are still on warranty take it to your apple store and they will replace it. if its not on warranty well then save up cause its about 85 bucks per hour to fix it. if your really talented and have the opening tool for ipods you might be able to fix it yourself. let me know how it works out. my son has been talking about fixing his for the last 4 months, he is awaiting them getting the opening tool at work so that he can fix it.
