Awwww.... I miss wearables *cry* I think it's sorta silly to split wearables & backgrounds too. They're all wearable... right? But then again, it's true that some of the ones further along didn't sell as well. But I sold tons of overpriced starry backgrounds, lol!

I think you should combine wearables with clothing but maybe somehow mark which ones are wearable. Its part of the same catagory so I think it would work but I dont deal with wearables that much since I dont sell those.
I think you definately make some good points :) Sadly for everyone to have some sort of faerie quest link with their shop it would mean an overall drop in members within the mall. I do agree with the possible linking of something like grooming with music though, I think that could possibly work. As for my malls choice to split backgrounds off from wearables, I agree, having to go into two seperate shops for wearables is annoying. However, before the split I was THE best stocked wearables only shop. I was heading towards page 14. Not many people want to scroll through that many pages to find backgrounds. Some of the ones on the later pages weren't selling as well as they should have in my opinion. Therefore seperating them off is making all the backgrounds more easily accessible. The problem with the category "wearables" is that it is growing at an insane rate. I wouldnt be surprised if I have over 20 pages of stock by the end of this year, and thats without the backgrounds. We also split for the practical side of things. Splitting backgrounds from wearables allowed us to get yet another shop into the mall. More shops increases overall ability to control the marketplace better and have more chance of having a shop top of hut which is a great benefit for the whole mall. This may not work for all malls though. Backgrounds as a lone category isn't that brilliant yet. Luckily my co-owner who took the backgrounds spot wasn't too interested in overall profits and just wanted a smaller easy to manage category.
See, I hadn't thought of the pages you'd have to go through to get to backgrounds! That is a profound reason to split up the category. If you do get to 20 pages, maybe you could make another category like hand-held/trinkets. Luckily NC Mall has brought some wording to the forefront to deal with what the heck to call different items. ~ Mimi (Please read my Guest Book: Requesting Guide Help) _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons

I always love it when the owner of a clothing store puts a specific number at the end of the price tag. It helps me to recognize the wearable items and not accidentally buy the wrong thing.

Early last year I stocked wearables with clothing and grooming and did the number indicator for wearables. I found it causes a few problems. One being that people mail you all the time going "is this wearable?". Another being accidental pricing, it's easy to go into auto pilot when you are pricing and accidentally put ... say for example a 7 on the end of a non wearable rather than a wearable. Then you get people mailing you calling you a scammer and whatnot.

Right now I only have gourmet foods so it doesn't really matter. I did find one item that was gourmet in my shop that I had forgotten to code, oops! My problem is I forget these numbers are MY SYSTEM and sometimes think something is gormet in a shop that isn't because the price ends in "1"! _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons
